The translation of a drawing to a relief print, especially when the drawing is loose or full of value gradations is great fun, though definitely a challenge. Finding even a sense of halftone when working with one plate is tricky and always yields a surprising result. In future prints I'll be experimenting with multiple plates, possibly multiple colors as well, though black is cheap and cost is an issue these days. Now that I've something of a handle on the process I'll likely move up to larger plate sizes as well. Hopefully that will mean more complex images soon.
